![]() ![]() I like the Scott Promask M120 / 40 / 25 series, but apparently Scott has been bought out by 3m and they're trimming the Scott product line somewhat so not sure what is left. Its a mask that will filter out gas.therefore a gas mask but whateverWell, you can keep using a term that won't get you the results you want, or use the term that will. Multigas plus P100 protects against most common hazards, if you go up to a CBRN rated multigas cartridge you'd get a longer protection time, at the expense of more breathing restriction. Organic vapor plus P100 combination cartridge will protect against riot control agents. ![]() Just want something effective that won't break the bankThen disabuse yourself of the term "gas mask". Yes the hardware store masks (the ones which actually seal) with any decent filter will handle it easily. That's why the military issued a "Second Skin" made of butyl rubber to cover the facepiece, as an afterthought/upgrade. The MCU-2/P and M40/M42 series used silicone facepieces, which are susceptible to corrosion by blister agents or compounds containing hydrogen nitride. The MSA Millennium is the same mask but with a facepiece made of (superior) hycar rubber. They're all pretty old (although there's a year of manufacture on each mask, different generations too) so yellowing of the polyurethane lens is common as they age. Looks like they're still around for about $80. The MCU-2/P used to be the go-to for mil surplus masks on eBay. ![]() They're also available tinted (for bright sunlight and/or to look like an Umbrella Corporation employee.)
