Me: Well, you might as well be because your hat is floating away. Three Directions Member #3: Do we look like a band that would sing in a haunted theater? Me: Soon enough, Three Directions arrive and someone still believes in the haunting of the theater. Me: I thought it was because you guys are rivals with Three Directions in the music business and the fans would prefer to see you. Twist: Because of the ghost? (Bo makes haunting sounds) Exactly! Marina: I was afraid there might not be a big crowd. Guess what band they're spoofing off with a name like that! And some weren't really expecting them. So, the episode starts off at a popular musical theater as people are awaiting the arrival of obvious parody boy band Three Directions. And now it's time to finish Fic-Or-Treat right here as we look at the Fresh Beat Band of Spies episode, Ghost of Rock. premiered a new episode that has a bit of a horror vibe to it and introduces a ghost that I am surprised got her design greenlit. What does this have to do with Halloween? Well, last week, Nick Jr. So, yeah, I've dwelt on this long enough and you're probably wondering. There's a singing pirate who has a chicken instead of a parrot, a cutie of a little girl who wants to be the cutest thing in the world and will stay on the top of the charts by any means necessary, a hair stylist who is cursed to be a werewolf and fakes a British accent, a racing video game antagonist who does what he can to be the top ranked racer by abducting the Fresh Beats into the game, a viking who pretty much rips off the plot of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze muscle-bound Schwarzenegger accented bodybuilder named.Champ von Champ von Winner Champ who pretty much seems like the main antagonist of the series. And the adventures and missions can be somewhat creative. But that's not necessarily a bad thing as this is supposedly aimed at younger minds. The only problem would have to be the viewership on premiere as.none of the episodes had really cracked the millions digit upon their premiere. So, it must be doing something right if it is doing well in the ratings. IMDB gives it a 7.5, TV.com gave it at least an 8, and Common Sense Media gave it 4 out of 5 stars. And, to my surprise, we were actually right! The cartoon, Fresh Beat Band of Spies, is actually doing pretty well with the ratings. At that time, Ruben and I talked about the cartoon's first episode, and while it did have a few hiccups, we believed that the show would still be a good follow-up to the original show and a nice way for the band to get back on TV. and was pretty much how it began for them, and eventually they got a cartoon sequel or follow-up where they are now working as top secret spies trying to stop nonsensical and comical schemes from all sorts of wacky and somewhat unrealistic yet human criminals. They had their own TV show that started on Nick Jr. collaboration earlier this year, we talked about the Fresh Beat Band, a pop band that would appeal to a bit of a younger demographic while still maintaining an image that is entertaining and lovable and the band members are never letting anything get down. And to do that, I'm going to talk about a horror-themed episode of an edutainment show that had just recently premiered.Ĭlip montage of the live action and cartoon versions of the Fresh Beat Band showsĪs I talked about them with my buddy Ruben in our Nick Jr. But I think I may have found a way to end Fic-Or-Treat on a strong note. And it was definitely not the best on any of those ends. I talked about my Top 20 scariest moments from experience, a crappy crossover of the Looney Tunes that fell flat on its face, a cartoon show follow-up to a movie that was not that memorable that another fellow reviewer already tackled, and a take on the Blair Witch Project by Scooby-Doo. So, this year hasn't been all that great on the reviewing side. Me: Okay, it's time to put an end to Halloween.
